Software Engineer

At PropFuel, we believe that engaging a group of people requires a strong connection with individuals. With our Conversational Engagement platform, we’re helping associations turn their broadcast communications into two-way conversations across email, SMS, and the web.

We are seeking a Software Engineer to work alongside our team to improve our platform by taking the lead on developing, maintaining, and supporting integrations with over 70 different platforms used by our 250+ clients. Our integrations run the gamut from popular platforms like Salesforce and HubSpot to purpose-built Association Management Systems, as well as one-off custom APIs for some clients. These integrations process over 20 million contacts per day and are responsible for making our data accurate, up to date, and usable by our clients and customer success managers.

We are looking for a motivated self-starter who is comfortable wearing multiple hats and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. We are a fully remote company with 12 employees working all over the United States. In this role, you must be flexible, curious, persistent, and comfortable working collaboratively with team members and customers. You can expect to:

• Take ownership of our integration harness, maintaining existing integrations as well as developing new ones.

• Work closely with our Customer Success team to investigate integration and platform issues, track down data anomalies, and answer any questions that go beyond their level of expertise.

• Develop a deep understanding of our data model and an ability to dig around MySQL and Snowflake to identify potential data issues.

• Write modern PHP code; we run the latest versions of Laravel and PHP 8.

• Develop new features that increase visibility into our integration layer, including logging and monitoring of background tasks.

• Get close to our customers and learn more than you ever thought you would know about how associations work.

• Contribute as a critical part of a small and fast-growing SaaS platform company.

• Work primarily remote with 1-2 days of in office collaboration in Atlanta, GA

You will focus on:

• Taking ownership of the development and maintenance of new and existing integrations.

• Taking ownership of support ticket escalations from Customer Success (avg of 10 per week).

• Working alongside our development team to define requirements, prioritize ideas, and develop new features and functionality in the platform.

• Working in our AWS environment to maintain platform stability and increase performance.

• Shipping new features and functionality in a continuous development environment.

You should apply if you:

• Have 2+ years of experience in SaaS software development.

• Love troubleshooting and solving problems.

• Have experience with and an understanding of developing against external APIs.

• Work well in an evolving, unstructured, remote environment.

• Are comfortable working directly with non-technical co-workers and clients to understand their problems and solve issues together.

It’s a bonus if you have:

• Experience with PHP using a modern framework such as Laravel.

• Strong understanding of relational databases.

• Experience working with large datasets.
