Negativity is an art.
We try to be so positive with our members by showing them all the great things they can do with membership and how we're making the world better. But negativity actually brings people together better than positivity!
One health food organization, whose members are mostly vegan, tried a few different ads. Two positive ads pushing vegan-themed messages and one centered around soda. That's right... soda.
What this organization learned about their members by asking the right questions is that they HATE soda and the ad received way more clicks than the other ads.
2 lessons here:
1. People love to hate the villain, in this case it was soda. Bring your members together to fight the villain. What's your villain?
2. You better know your members... What do they hate?
