The Power of a Story

May 3, 2024

PropFuel is a Feedback platform. So why a post about how telling a story makes a stronger connection with people?

I don't know yet. I'm hoping as I keep typing I'll find a connection that will make it irresistible for you to schedule a conversation with me.

Here's the deal though. You will shed a tear reading this article I'm referencing. And you'll be smiling. Anything that's ever made you angry in the world will disappear for a moment and you'll realize people are good, especially our kids.

I'm not going to spoil the story, but I encourage you to stop reading this and start reading that.

If you're still reading this, I appreciate your confidence in me.

Here's one thing I really like about this story. It makes you feel something. And therefore, it forms a much deeper connection within you.

So how can we get our staff, our employees, customers, members, and community to believe in what we do so much that they too have stories they can tell about how they're changing the world themselves?

There's a question we ask our team in PropFuel... and a similar question we ask our customers. Associations can ask their members a similar question as well that gets them thinking about that story that's so touching to them.

The question is simple:

Tell me a good customer story.

Tell me a story about how we helped you do something good recently.

Tell me a story about why you love what you do. (a little presumptive, but I'm ok with that)

I just realized that those aren't questions, but that's ok because they're prompts and I'm not really an academic so they're close enough.

Would you like to start asking meaningful questions of your team? or your customers? or your members? Would you like them to start FEELING something about what you do?Take a look, set up a time to see a demo with me.
