Here's the moral of the story... so if you don't want to read anymore, this is it:Once you start thinking about something, you subconsciously do something about it.

Ok, so Tesla's... right. Here's how they matter.Actually, it could be any car. I just like Teslas. Ever notice how when someone points out a car or you start admiring a car, you start to see them ALL OVER THE PLACE?Tesla - Specifically, the Model X. Super cool. That's right, it's the SUV and the safest car on the road. And the passenger doors open like the wing doors of a Delorian. FUN! Look for them. Now when you're driving, you'll start to see them everywhere. In fact, have you ever thought that you should get a new car one of these days... and then one day you decide "just to go look"? Well, when I do that, I end up buying one, if not that day, then shortly thereafter. That's why I don't go look or even talk about buying a new car, ever. Here's another example that proves my theory that when you start thinking about something, you end up doing something about it:Alone - The reality series on History Channel. I was skeptical because I'm not a Reality TV kind of guy. But I do like the woods and camping, so here's the theme. The producers drop you off, alone, in Patagonia somewhere with 15 items (Season 3) and the person, out of 12 or so people, that lasts the longest wins $500k.
- SO here's how it goes. 1 person is dropped of, so excited by the beauty and serenity of Patagonia.
- they catch a fish and they're enthused by their hunting skills paying off.
- they get hungry
- they build a really nice shelter with shelves, a fireplace and a bed out of bamboo.
- the eat another fish 7 days later
- by day 18 they're getting hungrier having eaten 2 fish and some leaves. They're lonelier and they're a little less enthusiastic about the beauty of Patagonia.
- they get hungrier
- by 30-40 days, most of them have lost tons of weight and they're mentally destroyed
- they talk about how much they miss their kids, family and food in the fridge
- BOOM! They tap out. Those are the "10 Steps to Losing $500k"
The only 2 steps that matter are the last 2.The minute you start thinking about something, you end up HAVING to do something about it (most of the time).I run just about every morning. I get up at 5 and I'm running with friends at 5:30. You know when I'm not? When I start thinking about how I don't have to and I can run later... BOOM! I tap out.So in THIS case I've decided to ignore the feedback I'm getting so that i can accomplish my goal.
