A New Conference Revenue Opportunity

November 14, 2019

We're always learning from our clients. So when our clients tell us "just capturing feedback is not enough", we listen.

Thus the new module called "Actions".

Actions allow you to create a workflow around the process of capturing feedback. They do something with the feedback. A specific answer or sentiment can trigger an action. Examples of actions include:

  • responding with an email based on the answer
  • redirecting to a URL specific to how they answer
  • adding or removing from a campaign
  • notifying or sending an alert via email
  • sending data back to the AMS

So let's talk about conferences. You get sponsors for your annual conference, or even a smaller event, or seminar, right? Depending on the size of the event you have sponsors with booths, logos on the website and emails, sponsors names on the room keys or lanyards. Some sponsors might get to say something at a lunch or host a cocktail party.

The Opportunity: Offer a sponsor the landing page on your conference feedback campaign. A feedback campaign in PropFuel generally looks like this...

  • 2 weeks before the conference, an email goes out asking a question or two. This not only gives you some insight as to how the attendees are feeling about the industry or what their expectations are of the conference, but it also simply gets them thinking about the conference before it happens.
  • 1 week before - another question goes out
  • the day after the conference - some form of a simple evaluation goes out (not to replace the session evaluations)
  • 1 month later - an effectiveness question goes out to see if anyone retained or is applying anything they learned at the conference.

Here's the money maker idea - each time a person answers a question, they're dropped onto a "thank you for your answer" type page... Turn that into a sponsor page. Give your sponsors another opportunity to get in front of the member. This is a great place for them to offer a whitepaper or provide educational content.

The price-point for this exposure probably varies dramatically, but there are 4 landing pages you can sell for every conference assuming you send 4 check-ins. This could yield thousands of dollars in sponsorship for a single conference. Even more if you offer sponsors a question as well.
